The Captain

Introducing The Captain. He catches, cans and then delivers sardines to a seagull colony in Howe Sound. Gets his kicks watching the gulls struggle with trying to open the sardine cans.

Lil Dude

Here's a handsome lil fella I like to call simply Lil Dude. He just got adopted and it's no wonder why...Lil Dude enjoys florescent lit dinners, short walks in dirt and meaningless conversation. Truly a realist and by the sounds of it, a low maintenance kind of guy. He's got such a smirk on his face...I'm gonna miss this little man.

I've decided that I'm terrible at taking pictures and this photo is doing nothing for such an outstanding creature as this four legged frankensock.

Truly a pain in the arse to make, it is worth the drops of blood I shed everytime I sew on another leg.

This is "the Stu." Named after my friend st2 who is an artisit in his own right. But I digress. This Stu is a professional floor polisher and works at the local hotspot "Club Foot." Hangs out at the club after work and watches fellow frankensocks literally trip the light fantastic.

Here is a line up of some bad boys.

Starting on the left we have Zalez: inventor of 3D glasses for the cyclopsed frankensocks.

Next to him is lil Shamus: He's a potato thief and is desperately trying to master the art potato mashing. He uses a make shift rolling pin.. but no one has bothered to tell him that a paper towel roll is too soft.Or that you have to cook the potatoes first. Needless to say he makes lousy mashed potatoes.

The next frankensock is mini Gary: He, obviously, is a safari guide at the zoo. He once got his head ripped off by an irate meerkat who caught him stealing from his hairball collection. Mini Gary was only trying to grab enough to donate to the Lint Deprived Sock Society.

Lastly is Wetzel. He grows cranberries and watercess in the toilet tank. Clearly he is an environmentalist with his fancy tree huggers pants.

Zalez I think is moving to Sooke BC in the near future. Good luck Zalez...hope your new career in landscaping and lawn maintenance is a success!!

Testing! Testing!

Welcome to the frankensocks blog!

I am new at this blogging stuff and have no idea how my frankensocks feel about being exposed to the world like this but I have managed to convince some of them that perhaps this would help them find some homes.
Frankensocks are a colony of mateless socks seeking adult human companionship. Each have a name and many hold jobs and have interests. Every week I will feature a new frankensock and give a small bio. You may have already met Gary, the very first featured frankensock. He has already been adopted and now lives on a ranch in B.C..

This week I will introduce my very first frankensock.
This is Frank. He is a student of Orthodentistry. Clearly you can see his motivation behind his career choice. It didn't occur to him that perhaps he would benefit from being a patient rather than a student, but who am I to say.
Forgive me, but Frank is rather crude. He was handstitched beside a pool last summer and was made by a pair of previously loved socks, thusly, is he is not on the adoption list.
Rest assured, all other frankensocks are machine sewn with unadulterated, fresh from the store pairs of socks.
Please check in with us periodically. Once I have my head wrapped around the technology of website design and blogging, there will be an opportunity for you to adopt your very own frankensock.
I just want to give a big shout out to my pal S2. He is responsible for placing my little sock dudes in cyberspace and without him, they would be destined to travel in my backpack on countless errands and coffee shop dates in hopes of being discovered.
Smell ya later!!
